New Record Set @ Kalamazoo on June 27, 2009

Andy competes in 10 Feature races, runs all 250 green flag laps & gets 2 victories!

RESULTS: Andy finished as follows~

1st and 3rd in the Late Model features

5th & 4th in the Modified features

1st and 4th in the Sportsman features

13th and 11th in the Pure stock features

14th and 19th in the cyber stock features, but in accordance with cyber stock rules, he was placed last.

Andy and Robbie both started all 10 features with Andy completing all 250 green flag laps. Robbie had bad luck in both of the cyber races and was unable to finish those 2 features.

Saturday, June 28 @ Kalamazoo "Double Trouble"

The first late model feature of the evening had 24 cars in the field. Andy started in the position slot. Trent Hellenga & Todd Harrington held down the first row and at the drop of the green, Hellenga takes a slight lead. On lap 2, Andy slipped under Phil and took over 4th place and the caution flag would be displayed as the leaders made contact and Hellenga is relegated to the tail and Phil is moved back in front of Andy.. At lap 10, Phil is looking inside of Brandon Lyons for 2nd place with Andy in tow. A battle for 2nd shapes up in a 4pack between Phil, Lyons, Andy & Terry Senneker . Harrington begins to stretch his lead as Phil and Andy clear for 2nd & 3rd. Andy moves to the outside of Phil on lap 13 for 2nd as they get into lapped traffic. On lap 16, Andy is about 10 car lengths behind the leader and closes to his back bumper by lap 25. Clearing lapped traffic by lap 28 sets the trail clear for Andy to pull outside of Harrington and take the lead on lap 30. The 2nd caution comes out on lap 31 for a couple cars spun in turn 1. The race restarts with 5 to go and Andy goes on for win #2 of the night and his first LM feature win at Kalamazoo for 2009.

Closing out the evening of 10 feature races was the 2nd late model feature. Andy would start in 10th position and Phil in 8th out of a field of 21 cars. Billy Shannon and Adam Terry hold down the first row at the green and at the end of one, Shannon is in command. Andy moves under Phil on lap 3 taking over 8th and by Lyons for 7th on lap 6. Lap 8 would see him looking to the outside of Harrington and take over 6th on lap 12. Andy then motored alongside of Kenny Head and took over 5th on lap 13 and on the next lap he catches 4th place, Needles and follows him on the low side of A. Terry for 4th on lap 15. Andy peeks on the inside of Needles on lap18 and falls back. By lap 22 they were running side by side and have almost caught the leaders who are also running side by side for the most part. Lap 26 put Needles outside of Brian Bergakker and he took over 2nd on lap 29. Andy moves by Shannon for 3rd on lap 30 and follows Bergakker through traffic. Once they were clear on lap 33, Andy moved inside of Bergakker for 2nd and the 1st caution of the race comes out. The race went back to green with 3 to go and another caution flew on lap 34 setting up a green/white, checker finish. At the end, Needles takes the win over Bergakker, Andy, Shannon, Terry & Phil.
